Our smallest shop doesn’t, we regret to say, have any seating. A tiny counter offers a single shopper a moment of repose with a cup of coffee and a slice of banana and cinnamon loaf. Still, Ottolenghi Kensington, just off Kensington Church Street, is a local Mecca for scrumptious pastries and incredible salads. This one is the local customer’s shop. Many bring their own dishes (or borrow from us) to create their favourite comfort food – a hearty lasagna, a creamy fish pie, a cherry trifle. Karl, the manager, will happily sit down to devise a dish or a menu for you, or to tell you about the daily menu, ready around 11am, or the seasonal catering menu.
